Why use roped access?
Cost and convenience are the primary advantages of using roped access for any high level works. When dealing with historic buildings tight budgets are the norm and the more money that can be spent on works to the fabric rather than on gaining access, the better.

For small to medium sized projects, at high level, roped access is increasinly being used, and there are a small number of companies who now specialise exclusively in building conservation using roped access. Building Conservation Solutions was among the first, with Joe Picalli, the managing director, having over twenty years experience of using roped access in the conservation of historic buildings.
